NovaMedia is artwork and writing of Richard L. Stevens: I wanted a place to give family and friends and clients a place with which to view my artwork. I hope that my work and my thoughts are enjoyed and I at least envoke some beauty and a little inspiration into an otherwise sometimes not so beautiful world. I wanted a place to better share my feelings about the world and I hope whoever views my work will understand a little more of why I feel so blessed to have lived such a treasured and wonderful life and that my emotions of passion and love and beauty and expression somehow are seen through my paintings and that my thoughts and feelings expressed in my art somehow will touch people positively. YES ! It IS such a Wonderful Life ! I grew up reveling and amazed at the beauty and in awe when viewing such masters art as VanGogh, Wyeth, Winslow Homer, Benson, Hassam, LaTrec, Dali, Magritte, and of course Monet. These impressionists and surrealists shaped and forged my very being as to what I envisioned in aspiring to be an artist. The compellingness of expression comes literally from the depths of ones soul, ones very fabric, out of a highly compelling drive to express ones inner song. For those who know not of the emminance of this drive, It's as if 'GOD' has literally torched the soul with the blissful tasking of expression, nothing stops the fire, nothing eases the desire like the truely pure projection of ones inner flame......and having fellow inhabitants of this planet be touched in some way by that expressiveness is truly the icing on the proverbial cake of life .....'rls' |

For There I Go by the Grace of God "Without ambition one starts nothing. Without work one finishes nothing. The prize will not be sent or given to you. Opportunities will and can be presented to you ......We all have choices presented to us via preeminate manifestation of our own hopes and desires that create reactiveness of the cause and affectiveness of our own karma.....and that is the meaning behind the prize......Success is when you make the right choice by way of sensing an opportunity coupled with the proper preparation that allows us to find that beautiful moment of clarity that help us see thru the mist and the haze of life for us to make a rare decision of purity.....Life is best savored when you live it with curious passion and respect those moments of pure clarity to realize we are nothing yet we are everything......The prize ? you have to earn it, the affect ? One must embrace it. The man who knows how will always have a job. The man who also knows why will always be his boss. As to methods there may be a million and then some, but principles are few. The man who grasps principles can successfully select his own methods. The man who tries methods, ignoring principles, is sure to have trouble." |
Le Prominade' :Above We live in a world so complicated by technology and todays environment, technology combined with issues of prosperity leaves it hard to find clarity sometimes. It seems so many people are always playing catchup....Given the worlds events on Sept 11, 2001 I wanted to display something that inspires thoughts of a less hectic period, when community meant family and friends and neighbors were more friendly. Sashaying to and from the market across a community square heading home on a blustery day. We could leave our doors open and you could see families in their houses having the nightly dinner and laughing and sharing the fruits of their labor together. |

Reflecting on the 2nd Day of Infamy Contacting me: |
I lived in the Virgin Islands in the 70's and I go there as often as I am able. The beauty that exists in the Caribbean is reflected in pristine tropical islands all over the world but there is something extroidinarily unique about the Caribbean that is not found anywhere else in the world. Island spices, colors and light and waterfalls and carnivals and a world whose inhabitants greet you with "no problems mon, enjoy the 'buuuutay' of dee islands" ..... www.google.com |
